plant

Planted some pants that's been sat outside the greenhouse for ages. They were some wallflower types. Some up by the water tower, and I've just between the greenhouse and the herb bed. I was picking up some shopping at big Tesco after work at Roath market, and also picked up some pansies, ferns and primroses. They're now dotted about the place :)

O.o The bulbs are coming up proper! The peas and beans and garlic 👇 Comfrey beginning to shoot 👇 The quince tree survives! I took out a few of the strawberry shoots up by the water tower, and gave everything in the greenhouse a good water as it was flipping boiling in there. I planted some oregano, chives, coriander, courgette (!), violets, hollihocks, sweet peas, radish and beetroot. Fingers crossed for them! I put a tomato seedling into a compostable pot. I sprinkled some wildflower mix and some Californian poppy into the borders, and took up some dandelion roots at the same time. I forgot to take a photo of the lettuce again. The peony pot has some wildflower seedlings sprouting in it - I can't remember what they are exactly right now - I'm sure it'll come to me...

Oueff - the pots had dried out more than usual! But of a water with the worm juice :) I investigated the tuber growing in the wormery - it was a slice of potato... Outside, the bulbs are progressing. Snowdrops have come right up. These beans and peas are doing ok. The sage is looking a little sorry... The mystery bulbs are going great guns And little Bea's pot has some more sproutings Also, I popped in this gooseberry bush. £2 from Tesco. I imagine the next visit I'll have to plant up some more veg seeds :) The last veg bed is just waiting to be finished off with a frame, but no dice as yet...

Popped in to check on the plants, what with the snow and all, and give them a water Here's the beds. The dug earth between the quince tree and the 2nd veg bed is planted with some bulbs I picked up from the supermarche. Hopefully they'll look good in 6 weeks or so... The 2nd veg bed with the peas and broad beans on the left & lower right. I think that's a fennel top right - it's looking a little worse for wear after the cold. There's two types of garlic below the fennel. The first veg bed. It's just got some volunteer lettuce transplanted from the greenhouse last week. Here they are - so tiny! The 'erbs. Sage is looking a little sorry, but I reckon it'll perk up pretty quickly. There's some super small volunteer lettuce plants in there too The pots! Exciting to see these sprouting as I don't know what's in there! (Apart from the smaller black pot which I think are cowbells, plant...

seed swap

Image
This pandemic library/seed swap is in Roath, between the playing fields and the pleasure gardens. I will endeavour to swap some seeds for some watermelon seeds (if they are still there next week!)

Bulbs are up! And some crocus showing :) I'm such a douche. I forgot to photograph the other things! The bulbs in the pots have sprouted, the beans and peas are alive and growing after the snow, garlic is growing. Some onion shoots came up in the greenhouse, but i think I may leave them there and start again as I was really slack in my labeling. So I've planted more beans, peas, some different tomatoes and some marigolds with an aim for selling when we open again (which must be soonish, right?). Either way it'll take 3 or 4 weeks to establish, so they should be good. I think I'll plant more in a few weeks so there's some rolling action.  I put up the table a customer kindly gifted, but I notice there is woodworm holes, so it can't stay. I'll investigate another table...

Dawn Chorus

First (weak) dawn chorus that I have heard this year...
